Hi Everyone, hope you are all well.
I recently attended another fabulous Urban Decay event in Newcastle organised by the very lovely Laura from Elleblonde . The event was introducing us to the launch of Urban Decays latest collaboration with Jean- Michel Basquiat. If you haven’t already seen it then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? it’s such a beautiful collection.
Jean Michel Basquait was an American artist born in Brooklyn who created, informal graffiti and used influences from Manhattan during the late 70’s. Basquiat was inspired by the hip hop and post punk movement and this can be seen throughout his incredible art work. Unfortunately Basquiat passed away in 1988 at the age of 27. His work was suggestive and focused deep on many social issues that Brooklyn and Manhattan was experiencing during the 70’s and 80’s.
One of my fave things about this collaboration is the packaging. Oh my goodness it’s just amazing. I love the fact that once you are finished with using the products is that you can hang up the packaging and it can be used at artwork on your wall. Genius. At the Newcastle store they only had the palettes and a few of the lip liners in stock. The full range includes lipsticks and online you can even purchase the matching cosmetic bags.
Enough of me rambling as I’m sure you all want to see the products well, look no further here they are!
This is the very colourful and very well pigmented Tenant Eyeshadow Palette. I adore the colours but as you lot know I’m more of a nude palette kinda gal. The packaging is amazing I love the graffiti of it.
Next is the Gold Griot Eyeshadow Palette, which is just beautiful.
Just look at them brown tones ❤ I’m just in love with this palette and it is definitely on my make up wish list!
The final piece of the collection we got to look at was the Gallery blush palette. I actually bought this when I was in London and even though I’ve still not used it, I love it. It’s just got everything that you need to contour with, blush with and naturally no blush palette these days is complete without a highlight.
Once we had finished admiring the Jean Michel collection we were shown the new vice lip toppers which create lovely metallic looks to ANY lipstick. They are glitter toppers so if your not a glitter fan then these maybe aren’t for you but they are just soooo cool.
As you can see one of the team used a nude/red vice lipstick and applied the different toppers that change your lipstick. Such a cool and funky idea and it’s definitely a trend setter!. I tried one out on top of my own lipstick and it actually didn’t look as bad as I thought it would look, I quite liked it.
If you would love to see the full range of the beautiful collaboration and of course prices then please click on the link and it will take you straight there 🙂 Urban Decay
