|Beningbrough Hall – National Trust|

Happy Friday :).

Last weekend I went on a little adventure to another National Trust place in Yorkshire that I hadn’t visited. The weather was arm but cloudy. You’ve gotta make the most of weather when it’s fine and in the late afternoon the sun did make a brief appearance.

The place I visited was Beningbrough Hall. It was built in the 18th century, this Italian-style baroque house has been shaped by its numerous occupants. It has an intriguing story to tell, beginning with the wealthy teenager who built the mansion to its occupation by the RAF in the Second World War to the re-invention as a country-house gallery, in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery. Today, the architectural grandeur of the rooms is a perfect setting for many 18th-century portraits featuring people who have influenced British history and its culture. I loved looking around at all the amazing portraits and I even spotted David Beckham in there as well.

I love that in the house they had interactive rooms. In one room you could try on the dresses and costumes, in another you could have you own portrait painted via a computer which was quite interesting and in another was a kids play room that was quite fun as it had one of them funny mirrors in.

The walled gardens was lovely, I love looking at the colourful flowers and discovering flowers I hadn’t seen before.  Beningbrough gardens has even been a winner with The Chelsea Flower Show.

There’s lots of things to see and do here and one of the things we happened to get to do when we went was CHOCOLATE TASTING!!!, who doesn’t love chocolate. We got to choose between I think it was 5 flavours and the winning bar was going to be branded the Beningbrough bar. The flavour that won was orange and geranium. My favourite was a white chocolate peach and raspberry.

Enough of me rambling here’s a few photo’s from my visit.

I didn’t take that many photo’s as I was vlogging the day which if you head over to my little channel you will see everything in full 🙂

What’s your plans for this coming weekend?
