Happy Monday!
Last week me and my mam took a little day trip up to Edinburgh which is around an hour and half journey from Newcastle and it was such a lovely day. Despite the weather being cold (no surprise there as it’s always cold whenever I go to Scotland) and me having to purchase a hoodie it was lovely to get away. We arrived around 11am and walked along Princess Street gardens before heading for lunch at The Elephant Room which is the cafe where JK Rowling herself started to write the Harry Potter books and that for me was super emotional as I’m a huge Potter fan.
We also went up to the castle and went to the camera obscura place which was crazy!. I loved all the different types of illusions and would highly recommend to anyone!, plus the views from the rooftop is amazing!. It does however cost for an adult £15.50 but you are in there for quite some time as there’s 6 floors of illusions. One of my fave parts was the pin hole obscura show which show live footage of Edinburgh! That was pretty cool to see.
We then walked around the Old Town and went up to Victoria Street which is where JK Rowling got her inspiration for Diagon Alley. There was also a few Harry Potter shops in that street as well which was cool. I was very pleased with myself for not purchasing anything HP related!.
Edinburgh is such a lovely little city and is the perfect little get away. Highly recommend a visit, and I can’t wait to be back in October/November!.
I also vlogged my trip to here’s my video which shows off the views and illusions sooo much better than photos!
Have you visited Scotland? Any recommendations?
Thank you for reading xxx
