Happy Thursday aka last day of January 2019!. Gosh where has the month gone. This month has sometimes felt so long and then others felt like it’s lasted more than a month. Anyone else feel like that?
January has been quite a busy month for me and I’ve already ticked some things I wanted to achieve this year off my list. How crazy is that! I for one am not complaining, I feel fabulous for it.
I kick started January by joining……. A GYM. This was a huge step for me and one I’ve wanted to take for quite some time but never felt confident in myself to actually step inside a gym and do regular workouts. I sometimes work out at home but we all know what it’s like being at home. I always sit around drinking endless amounts of tea and scrolling through all of my social medias, getting nothing done. I go with a friend which is very helpful and motivating for me however I am going to start going on my own as we are on different shift patterns with our works. I’m really enjoying my gym experience which is something I never thought I would, I just love getting up on a morning putting my gym gear on and heading off. I can already feel a difference in myself as I’m less tired and can see my body changing and it’s almost been a month. I aim to go at least 4 times a week if I can’t then I have still been doing homework outs. My aim for going to the gym is to become a lot fitter (as I often get very out of breath) and to be stronger in my arms. I love doing weights and have assigned days where I’ll do abs or legs and alternate them. I alway start with bit of cardio and always finish doing abs or weighed squats.
I’m also back doing Burlesque lessons on Wednesday evenings with House of Trixie Blue. Preparing for another fabulous show which I’m super duper excited about. I shall leave her blog linked here if any of you want to know any more information. I bloody love Burly Wednesdays. So pleased to be back at lessons.
I had a few little days out this months as well. I went to Saltwell Park, a frosty walk in my city centre park, Morpeth, Penshaw Monument and the beach. Only one of these was a National Trust, you all know by now how much I adore National Trust places. I just love getting some fresh air and blowing away the cobwebs. I love making the most of the winter sunshine, it’s making me excited for the warmer months!
Saltwell Park and the beach.
Mowbray park and Morpeth.
I also loved using macro mode on my phone more. I have the Samsung s9 and I just love it.
Penshaw Monument – National Trust.
It’s very rare to visit this monument when it’s empty as its usually full. I went on a weekday and just loved taken in the scenery. And yes I climbed all the way to the top IN HEELS!!!! now that’s an achievement in itself!. I adore taking in the views you don’t realise how high up it in until you reach they top!. It really makes me appreciate just where I live.
I also still can’t believe I purchased.wore animal print for the first time ever. To see a blog post all about it just click here I loved going out of my comfort zone and wearing something I would never usually wear. I had so many great compliments about it.
I also managed to find motivation to get back into portrait photography. For those who aren’t aware I have a degree in Photography and run a photography Facebook page and Instagram. It’s something I’ve wanted to get back into for a very long time and this year I made is one of my main goals to get back into it as I really do miss photographing people. I stopped once I finished my degree as I really lost my passion for it due to a bad experience with my teacher. Not going to dwell on that as I’m trying to get back into the swing of things and have a few photoshoots booked in already.

That’s about it for January what a month it’s been it’s also been the month wear I GOT MY HAIR CUT! I got it done yesterday and whilst it feels weird having short hair again I know it’s what my hair needed and fingers crossed it’ll of grown for my holiday in July :).

I love making these kinds of posts! I’ve been doing them for a bit over two years and it’s awesome to look back and see all the little things I did. So often we forget the little pleasures in life. The Penshaw Monument looks absolutely stunning! Reminds me of Calton Hill in Edinburgh.

I love the Samsung phones for photography and playing around with the different settings – it is almost like you are using a DSLR camera! I have yet to join a gym despite saying that I was going to join one come January. Oh well… maybe next month!? xx

The photos look amazing! Phone cameras have really come a long way they are a true competitor for DSLR cameras although I still have a preference for a good dslr ever now and then 😅

I completely agree I still adore using my DSLR but sometimes I just love not taking a bag and just putting my phone in my pocket when I go out as it’s easier and so much lighter haha. Thank you for reading xx

There’s always a fight in my brain where i go back and forth between carry a heavy bag and getting great photos or just having a light back and getting photos of my phone xx
