Happy Wednesday, halfway through another week! Hope you’re all having a lovely week so far.
I was bought these Bakedin Gin and Tonic cupcake set for Christmas as I’ve only just gotten round to baking them. I’ve heard of this brand but never purchased anything from them. You can get this brand in Debenhams and I love that they do loads of different fab looking sets. For example: rainbow layered cakes, chocolate layered cakes, melting cookies, brownie in a mug and so much more. Find them on Instagram or check out there website by clicking here
This is the box it comes in and this set cost £20.
inside the box you get all the ingredients you need and an instruction card. The instructions are on the back of the box as well but I love that you get a little card as well. So the gin used in this set is the Bombay Sapphire dry gin. I’ve only within the last year became a lover of gin more so flavoured gin so I’ve not tried this type of gin. I also don’t like tonic water either as I prefer my gin with lemonade.
Most of the ingredients needed are included the only thing you need to add in is butter and 2 large eggs. The instructions are very easy to follow and I was very pleased with the results of my cakes. This mixture makes 12 cupcakes which made me very happy haha. To prep it took around 10 mins and to bake the cakes took 20 minutes so all in all it doesn’t;t take long 🙂
Whilst the cupcakes were cooling down I mixed the icing. You do get a pipping bag to pipe the icing onto the cake however I’m not the best and that so I tend to just spoon on the mixture. I also don’t like a lot of icing on my cakes so I just mixed half of that the recipe said. The cake tastes amazing and it’s VERY moist which as cake lovers know is what makes a bloody good cake!. I also love the fact that the top of the cupcakes are crunchy it just adds to the texture of the bake. I also love that the gin isn’t overpowering which at first I thought it was going to be however the icing on it’s own (yes I may of tasted it before I put it onto the cupcakes) doesn’t taste that grand haha. Highly recommend these. I’m now definitely wanting to try out the prosecco and strawberry cake kit.
I love baking and I love these quick and easy already prepared boxes. I also love the fact that this brand also does monthly subscription boxes. For a 3 month subscription it costs £25 6month is £50 and a whole years subscription is £100. Such a good little gift idea if you know someone who loves to bake or if you fancy treating yourself.
Have you tried this brand before? What’s your fave thing to bake?
Thank you for reading xxx

I have never tried this brand before and not sure how I feel about gin and tonic cupcakes. I feel like £20 is expensive for cupcakes but I guess that is the price of the gin. I definitely would prefer pink gin. xx
