Happy November! It’s officially time to mention the C word! CHRISTMAS!!
Last night Fenwick’s in Newcastle revealed there Christmas window and it was once again such a magical experience. As I’ve mentioned in previously Fenwick’s window is a huge family tradition. Ever since I was little my parents took me to see it so even as an adult I still adore going.
The first weekend of November they have a huge window reveal where hundreds gather in Northumberland street to it. This year I felt there was more adults than children there, which is what I love, the fact that it’s for all ages!. Just before the countdown began Santa was present on the roof of Fenwick’s looking down at everyone giving us a little wave, which made the crowd go wild with excitement (myself and my parents included!). Once Santa was gone the 10 second countdown began!. The atmosphere was incredible!
The year’s window is …..Roald Dahl’s, Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory!
Here’s some of my fave window’s from the display. One or two images are taken in portrait mode rather than my normal landscape mode.
I HATE that fact that you can see the Greggs logo in the window’s refection. Kind spoils the first few windows.
I love love love the one with Violet who eats a bubblegum that is not quite ready yet and ends up the size of a balloon!.
After seeing this fabulous display it has made me really want to watch the movie. It’s an absolute classic film and a one that I always love to watch!. I just love that it’s such a heart warming moment the fact that Charlie picks his Grandad to go with him and have this fabulous adventure inside the chocolate factory.
It just looks incredible hats off to the team who come up with the ideas year on year to create something so amazing and mind-blowing!. I can’t wait to see what they have up there sleeve for next year as I know it will already be in the process!
To see what Fenwick’s window was like last year then simply click here as it was just as amazing and very very christmassy!
Do you have a family tradition that you do every year? I would love to know!

This is so cool! I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I love all of the different scenes on display, especially Violet’s. We normally drive around looking at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve but recently there has been less and less houses with displays so may have to stop this year. xx
