Happy Wednesday
The last time I seen this musical I was at junior school, and I went with my school as we were doing a school production of our own. Safe to say I was very excited to see this musical again as an adult. This production is running in Sunderland between 18th February and Saturday 22nd February.
About the musical
This musical is a Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s family favourite musicals and a one that was the first to be seen publicly. The role of Joseph in this production is played by Mark McMullan (Britains got talent)
This wonderful musical is about retelling the Biblical story of Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours, Seen by an estimated 26 million people, and counting, Joseph continues to enthral audiences around the world. A production that is full of life and colour. This musical features the unforgettable songs that include Go, Go, Go Joseph, Any Dream Will Do, Jacob and Sons and Close Every Door To Me.
My thoughts
What a fantastic show. Very family friendly in fact there was loads of children in the audience singing along especially at the encore!. Great atmosphere throughout. This is exactly the way I remembered it being although I don’t remember there being a pharaoh dressed as Elvis haha. My fave part has to be the second half of the show when Joseph put on this amazing coat. It looked incredible. Very music oriented as opposed to a scripted musical production. I in fact knew quite a lot of the songs which is surprising considering I’ve not seen in it years! This is a must see show.
Thank you to Sunderland Empire for the kind invite.
Have you seen this musical? What is your fave one to see?
Thank you for reading xxx

I used to think that I went to the theatre a lot but honestly you put me to shame! No hate, just an observation.
I remember watching the film as a kid when I was at a summer camp and it was this muscly guy with long brunette hair and I remember thinking how weird the movie was… this was obviously before I knew the story, I think I was only about 5/6 so too young to properly understand. Should probably re-watch it now and see what I think. xx

Awww haha I get invited to opening nights to review them and I go when I can. I think it was more magical as a kid in terms of the coat but its still a good show xx
